6 A hand pointing to the right [FIGURE 10 I signed 10 Recommends I received 5 Letters from
Wilford, Mary & Public I wrote Letters to
2 Jaques, Thompson, Brother & Sister Cottam, & Mary
An arrow I got word that Br Hall could not pay rent that
He had but vary Little company and could not meet his cash
I attended a feast at the Court House with some 30 of
the Brethren Judge Elias Smith & myself were the two
oldest Persons I staid untill 10 oclok & went to the field
and spent the Night I found Clara much better 3 M[iles]

To Prest Woodruff and the Apostles: I see by tonights news the posi- tion taken by yourselves as regards the tract issued by me. I can only say, in palliation of my offense, that Satan deceived me, and actually caused me to suppose I had a mission to cir culate the said tract, and I verily thought I was doing the Lords service in the matter. Oh that I had taken counsel of Prest Woodruff in time. Udall in regard to the apoint- ment of an Attorney to Incorprate While the Gentleman spoken of by them is competent, I think it would be better for us to join with St Joseph Stake as we could reach councell very handy jointly.
