October 21, 1897 ~ Thursday

Thur. Oct 21st At the office. Rec[eived] letter from M busy at my desk & had letter mailed. I attended
my Temple meeting this morning, and afterwards a Directors meeting of ZCMI.
& drove home.

Salt Lake City Dear Brethern I am in Receipt of your letter of Inquirey, of Sept 24 [18]97 in answer will Say, I Feel like it is my duty to fill any call that is made of me. My father & mother was born in Ohio and Indiana and Father was the olnley one of his people that ever joined the church. He joined in [18]47 or [18]48, if consistent would prefer to go in that Mission, and prehaps could do some good to the family as well as Promulgating the Gospel, which I am willing to do.
