Letter from Willard Done, 3 November 1897

To the First Presidency, Dear Brothren: I have the honor to report on the series of tracts submitted to me for review. I have read them twice with care, and have suggested such verbal changes as have seemed necessary. There has appeared to me no reason for change in their essential elements. It did seem at first that some of the sharp, incisive points could have been softened down a little, to some advantage, but Brother Penrose informed me that they formed an essen- tial element, demanded by the peculiar purpose for which the tracts were writ- ten. I can say that in my opinion the tracts form an excellent series, well adapted to the introduction of the Gospel in the world. They have my most hearty commendation. Trusting they will accomplish the purpose for which they were written, I remain, Yours in the Cause of Truth, Willard Done.
