Fri July 8th. Went to the office feeling well, and was kept quite busy all
day. went home at 4 pm.

To Prest. Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Brother While attending April Conference Bp. Preston suggested that I should dispose of one half of the Church Herd here in Alberta; I find from the latest report of stock on hand that we have about ninety head of grown stock (steers and fat cows) that we can dispose of which will bring about three thousand dollars, and with this seasons crop of calves, we can then more than keep the old stock good by 100 head: It would cost almost as much to take care of one half of the herd as the whole: would it not be better to do so, or else sell out the entire herd of this brand, and commence anew with a fresh brand: When I came back here last spring, the stock were not in a condition to sell, now they are; what shall I do.
