In an 1884 discourse to the Saints, President Wilford Woodruff said, “There [is] no higher calling on the face of the earth than to become a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Each of us has opportunities to witness the Savior. The people in 3 Nephi 11 had the special experience of physically witnessing Him. Jesus Christ appeared to the people and invited them to “arise and come forth” to Him so they could know for themselves that He was their Savior. Although we are not physically with Jesus, He taught us many ways we can come unto Him.
We can witness Him every time we serve those around us, follow the words of a living Prophet, choose kindness and love in our interactions, and by worshiping in the temple.
I especially come to recognize my Savior when I read from The Book of Mormon. I know that it’s true, because it helps me understand how I can follow Jesus better, and how I can be a witness for Him.
