In today’s tumultuous world it can be difficult to make decisions and know what is right. Luckily, as Latter-day Saints, we have the gift of the Holy Ghost to help us.
Wilford Woodruff knew the importance of the Holy Ghost. He once testified, “If you have the Holy Ghost with you . . . there is no greater gift, there is no greater blessing, there is no greater testimony given to any man on Earth.”
So how can we learn to recognize the promptings of the Spirit? There are three ways we can do so:
-
He will speak in a still, small voice.
-
He “leadeth to do good.”
-
He will show the truth “in your mind and in your heart.”
In April 2018, President Nelson shared the importance of recognizing spiritual promptings: “In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.”
The Holy Ghost can teach, protect, comfort, and bear witness to us. As we learn ways to recognize promptings, we will be able to better receive inspiration from the Holy Ghost.
